Answers to the most important questions about medical studies.
The exact date when the winter semester begins is set anew each year. However, it is always a date within the period between the end of September and mid-October. The corresponding date for each winter semester is announced in good time – as soon as it is confirmed – and published online.
You complete your studies at UMFST-UMCH with an internal university examination instead of a state examination. This has the advantage that you are prepared for an examination designed by your own lecturers. Thus, you are optimally and individually instructed in preparation for the final examination. In addition, you must complete and present a written scientific thesis under supervision.
You can participate in the admission process anytime and without complications. A visit to one of our admission events in Hamburg is not mandatory. There is the option to participate online – via video call – in the short evaluation and motivation-based interview.
For the application, you need the following documents:
- Current passport photo
- Copy of your valid ID or passport
- Proof of highest educational qualification (e.g., high school diploma or university entrance qualification)
- Curriculum vitae
- Motivation letter
- Proof of internships or relevant experience in the medical field (if applicable)
- Proof of English and German language skills (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS for English and TestDaF, DSH for German) – depending on the specific requirements of the program
